Nasi Lemak

Nasi Lemak

Nasi lemak is a very common and well-known dish in southeast Asia. It is also the national dish of Malaysia. It is called nasi lemak because in Malay, nasi means rice and lemak means coconut milk. Basically the white rice for this dish is cooked in coconut milk. It is then served on a banana leaf along with anchovies, sambal squid, egg, peanuts and sambal hot sauce. (important note that sides varies from place to place and restaurant to restaurant)
